Exercise can do wonders to improve our overall health. Unfortunately, some people claim they just don’t have enough time for it. It is so sad to think that many people spend so much time working for a living. But they do not set aside even thirty minutes a day for their health. What they do not realize is that exercising also means working for a better living. This is true because exercise makes you healthy inside and out. Thus, exercise can definitely help people add some years to their life span.
Exercising does not necessarily mean that you have to spend several hours at the gym. The following are some activities that will give you an opportunity to exercise without
• brisk walking
• lawn mowing
• gardening
• biking
• dancing
As you plan your physical fitness program, be wary of some fitness myths that you might hear from other people. Furthermore, here are some reminders that you should keep in mind all throughout your exercise regimen:
Do not procrastinate
A lot of people fail to start their physical fitness program because they always have an excuse for postponing it. Postponing your physical fitness program will not do anything to postpone the deterioration of your health.
Exercise is not just about losing weight
Some people stop in the middle of their physical fitness program. It is because they think they were not losing the amount of weight that they expected. Exercise has also been proven to improve one’s mood. It decreases one’s vulnerability to anxiety, depression, and other serious diseases. Therefore, you should not stop just because you’re not losing weight.
You do not have to be in pain, to gain something out of your exercise regimen
Many people believe in “No Pain, No Gain”. But, come to think of it. A pain could be a sign that a part of your muscles or joints have been injured. So, don’t push yourself to the limits just to achieve results. Too much of a good thing is definitely bad enough.
Fuel your body with the right nutrition
Some people think of an exercise as one good reason to eat just anything. They eat more than they should thinking that they will be losing it anyway while exercising. As a matter of fact, an exercise regimen must be coupled with healthy diet. You are still at risk of suffering from serious health diseases if you refuse to stop eating unhealthy foods. This is true even if you are exercising regularly.
Exercise during your most convenient time
Many people fail to stick to their exercise regimen because they do not have enough time in the morning. The truth of the matter is that you CAN still exercise in the afternoon or in the evening. What matters most is for you to exercise regularly. It is not a sin to vary your schedule for exercise.
You do not have to go to the gym to measure your progress
Some people insist that it is always better to exercise in the gym. They think that those gadgets and equipments with digits on them accurately indicate their progress. In fact, you just have to listen to your own body and you will feel your progress. You do not need those gadgets in the gym to be able to measure your weight loss. Just believe in what your clothes tell you. If your clothes are becoming too loose, that is enough indication that you are losing weight.
